Hanan Ibrahim Al Abed joined Abu Dhabi Airports as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) in March 2019. With over 17 years’ experience in human resources management, she is a proven specialist across several key areas, including project management, organisational design and structure, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement and change management.
 
Before joining Abu Dhabi Airports, Al Abed served at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) since 2002, with her last post being that of Management Support Office Director. In this role, she provided advisory and administrative support to the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General, in addition to leading on organisational development projects and activities across the Agency and managing EAD’s executive communications and external relations.

Al Abed is certified by the World at Work Association in the U.S. as a Global Renumeration Professional (GRP) and she is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in the Foundations of Advanced Information Technology and a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Computer Science, all from the Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, University of London, UK.
