Abu Dhabi Airports’ Staff cover Umrah expenses for 30 of their colleagues

03 Apr 2017 , Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
In its drive to support the national “Year of Giving” as per the directive of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, a group of 30 Abu Dhabi Airports staff have been given an Umrah trip, paid for by their colleagues.

The national focus behind the “Year of Giving” is promoting social responsibility, the spirit of volunteerism and strengthening the concept of serving the nation. To this extent, Abu Dhabi Airports’ employees generously donated to allow some of the less fortunate members of the company to make the special pilgrimage.

The group of 30 employees departed from Abu Dhabi International Airport for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and returned to the capital two days later after fulfilling their Umrah task.

Commenting on the success of this drive, Abdul Majeed Al Khoori, Acting Chief Executive Officer, said: “This is the true spirit of the Year of Giving. It is heart-warming to see our staff respond positively to this initiative as it demonstrates their commitment to the level of social responsibility we have as a corporation as well as individuals. I am exceptionally proud that our staff members are supporting each other in this way, and look forward to implementing more of the “Year of Giving”’ initiatives.”

Abu Dhabi Airports is engaged in several other initiatives to support the Year of Giving. Earlier this month staff donated blood to the national blood campaign, and a visit was arranged to the Emirates National Autism Center to deliver gifts to the children there and spend time with them.
