Who we are

Abu Dhabi Airports was created in 2006 to spearhead the development of the emirate's aviation infrastructure. It plays a pivotal role in Abu Dhabi's Economic Vision by operating ~90m sqm of freezone space and five commercial airports in the emirate: Zayed International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Delma Island Airport and Sir Bani Yas Island Airport.

Our nation expects much from us, and looks forward to our achievements. We have a responsibility to them.

Enabling the growth of aviation in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Airports is a key player in Abu Dhabi's acceleration as a leading global travel, trade and tourism hub. It's mandate includes managing Zayed International Airport's (AUH) multi-billion-dollar expansion, which originally opened in the heart of Abu Dhabi Island in 1969, and has since become the fastest growing mega airport in the Middle East, Europe and Africa, and the gateway to the emirate for travellers from around the world.

AUH was inaugurated in 1982, just over a decade after the establishment of the UAE, under the patronage of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan at its current location 50km off Abu Dhabi island. The original hub on the island has since grown into Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI), which caters to the emirate's leadership, official delegations and private aviation.

Zayed International Airport (AUH)

AUH is among the fastest-growing airport hubs worldwide, currently serving more than 30 airlines that connect Abu Dhabi to over 100 destinations around the world. Featuring world-class technology-enabled passenger facilitities, its allows passengers to get from gate to curb in 12 minutes from arrivals, while offering more than 160 fine and artisanal retail, dining and leisure options at departures, all under a physical environment that is meant to resemble an architectural marvel. AUH is also the home of Etihad Airways, the UAE's national carrier, and is central to Abu Dhabi Airports' plans to more than double passenger capacity to 65 million passengers annually by 2035.

Al Ain International Airport (AAN)

AAN is Abu Dhabi's second international airport, operating since 1994. Located 18km northwest of Al Ain City, AAN is rapidly developing into a regional hub for cargo and logistics, via rail and road connections to Abu Dhabi city as well as areas beyond the UAE. Full year passenger traffic in 2025 grew 9.2% over the preceding year, supported by a surge in cargo growth of 61% year-on-year.

Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI)

AZI is the first dedicated business aviation and private jet airport in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Strategically positioned in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the airport currently has a stand capacity for up to 54 private jets.

ZDY is at the centre of the development of Delma Island, connecting the local population of 6,000 to Abu Dhabi through high quality transport infrastructure.

Sir Bani Yas Island Airport (XSB)

XSB, located 250km southwest of the Abu Dhabi coast in the Al Dhafra Region, serves private, charter, and air taxi flights, delivering a seamless, stress-free arrival for visitors heading straight to the island's renowned wildlife reserves and luxury eco-resorts.

Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone

As Abu Dhabi Airports' commercial arm, ADAFZ operates prime real estate in close proximity to the rapidly growing hubs at Zayed International Airport – Terminal A, Al Ain International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport. It supports private and public partnerships, investment and property development, and offers plots dedicated to business, logistics and light industrial activity, as well as one-stop service hubs that attract industry clusters across aviation, aerospace, logistics, manufacturing, technology, IT and other industries. Businesses operating out of ADAFZ benefit from duty and tax exemptions, full foreign ownership, and capital and profit repatriation.
