Eng. Sulaiman Al Siksek has been appointed as the Chief Programs Officer (CPO) at Abu Dhabi Airports in 2022. Bringing more than 23 years of experience, Eng. Al Siksek has a proven record in delivering major programs and projects. His current role sees him ensure that Abu Dhabi Airports continues to deliver on its mandate to passengers and stakeholders through improving the infrastructure and timely delivery of projects.
As Chief Programs Officer, he is responsible for the programme to develop and deliver all aviation assets under Abu Dhabi Airports. The centerpiece of this programme is the iconic Terminal A, which will provide a 742,000 m2 new terminal building, aprons and taxiways, passenger and cargo facilities, and commercial district for a total capacity of 45 million passengers a year.
A member of the Abu Dhabi Airport’s executive management, Eng. Sulaiman is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to an integrated team of 200+ staff, which includes experts that have played critical roles in some of the world’s largest airport developments in recent years. With his exceptional management and technical capability, he has successfully executed several complex and fast-track projects utilizing various project delivery methods.
Prior to his current role, Eng. Sulaiman served as VP - Capital Projects. During this time, he efficiently managed the construction and timely handover of capacity enhancement initiatives to accommodate increasing passenger demand. He was directly responsible for the preparation of the official capital development funding application submitted to the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, resulting in the appropriation of a multi-billion-dollar government grant for the airport expansion program. He also led the development of the tender package, tender evaluation plan, evaluation report, and construction contract for the procurement of the Terminal A.
Before joining Abu Dhabi Airports, he served as Head of Aviation Projects at the Supervision Committee for the Expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport (SCADIA) where he supervised multiple divisions to successfully execute the program.
Eng. Sulaiman’s career began in 1999 at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), where he joined as a Project Engineer in its Engineering and Projects Division. In 2003, he was promoted as Project Manager to deliver the company’s Ruwais Refinery expansion project.
Eng. Sulaiman graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in 1998, majoring in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the United Arab Emirates Society of Engineers..
